Mateya Safari Lodge, located in the spectacular 75,000 hectare Madikwe Game Reserve, promises to be among the most prestigious game lodges of its kind and certainly one of the most exclusive in Southern Africa. The reserve is home to the super 7 (lion, buffalo, cheetah, elephant, leopard, black & white rhino and wild dog), plains game and over 350 species of birds.
Accompanied by experienced rangers and trackers, guests can venture on game drives in custom-built 4X4 vehicles, or track on guided walking safaris through the reserve. Each adventure will be planned around guests’ specific interests, with a maximum of four guests per vehicle. This ensures the fulfillment of their ideal safari experience.
The lodge accommodates 10 guests in 5 individually designed air-conditioned luxury suites, beautifully blended with their natural surroundings. Each suite offers en-suite bathrooms with an open air shower and a private pool deck. Guests can enjoy the luxury of total privacy, savouring the wonderful sights and sounds of their own secluded slice of Africa.
Mateya offers a bush boardroom with internet facilities, a curio boutique, gym and health spa. Guests can relax in the lounge, elevated deck areas and African interest library, while admiring a superb collection of African art.

The Madikwe Reserve is a Malaria-free area, a mere three and a half hours drive from Johannesburg and 120km from Sun City. A scheduled flight departs daily from Johannesburg and lands directly in the reserve making it an easily accessible and desirable destination.
